BREAKING: ASU members win 4.6 - 5.2%% wage increase in the National Wage Case!
This week, Australian Services Union members have campaigned for a meaningful pay rise through the National Wage Case, and won!
The Fair Work Commission handed down the Annual Wage Review Decision on the 15 June 2022.
Over 2.7 million workers are set to get a 4.6 - 5.2% pay rise after a well fought campaign by union members.
This win by union members is a clear example of how important it is to stand to together to campaign for better pay and conditions in your workplace.
Congratulations! ASU members should be proud for campaigning and winning a pay rise – thank you for your support.
What ASU members need to know:
- The national minimum wage has been increased to $21.38 per hour or $812.60 per week.
- Modern awards are set to increase by 4.6 as of 1 July 2022.
- Some awards including workers covered by the airlines and hospitality awards will have their increase delayed until October 2022.
- If you are employed on an enterprise bargaining agreement, you won’t receive a pay increase unless your base rate of pay falls below the minimum award rate for your classification. This is your rate of pay without separate amounts like shift rates or overtime.
As your union, our work continues – we need to ensure that employers pass on this wage increase to their workers on 1 July.
Your employer will be reviewing your current rates against the Award minimums over the coming weeks. The ASU will be working with our members to ensure everyone is paid what they are owed.
